8 reasons to read Parasite Positive (aka Peeps)

1. It's a completely new take on vampires. They're kind of raw and zombie like in their eating, they hate everything that they loved in their former life and you can become a vampire by just kissing somebody who has the parasite.
2. This book is filled with a lot of different genres. It's paranormal meets dystropian meets horror meets zombie apocalypse meets romance meets action meets adventure ...
3. It's seriously action filled and fast paced. You will not be able to tare yourself away from the book because you have to know what happens next.
4. Some chapters are like essays about real parasites. They're super creepy and I freaked out all of my friends by reading those chapters aloud.
5. There was also a cute little romance going on. 
6. It was a very quick read which I read in one sitting.
7. The author is frickin Scott Westerfeld! He's awesome!
8. This book is simply just amazing and everyone should read it.

I think this review is one of the hardest reviews I've ever written. I'm not completely sure how I feel about the Vampire Academy books, I should like them. I want to like them. But I'm not that drawn to them.

I read the first Vampire Academy book about half a year ago. I'd read lots of great things about the series and was really eager to start reading it. I liked it, but wasn't as in love with it as everyone else were. I'd heard many people say that the series got better for every book and hoped that I would like Frostbite more than the first book. Even though I didn't have as high expectations as for the first book, it let me down.

I really should like these books. The stories are fast pased and really action filled. The characters are well developed and threedimentional. They're likeable and and suit the story. The writing is good. The vampire world is really well planned and has lots of details. There's lots of romance and complications between the characters.

The books should be really good, but I just don't enjoy reading them. I should, but don't feel any attachment to the charactes. In all the big action filled scenes, my heart doesn't race. I don't want to read every moment possible, but every time I pick up the book I feel more like "okay, I have to read a few pages. I haven't read anything in a few days" not "I want to read!!!!".

So I'm not going to rate this book. It is a really good book. But I didn't enjoy it. I know, it doesn't make any sense.

Exonerated by the Vampyre High Council and returned to her position of High Priestess at Tulsa's House of Night, Neferet has sworn vengeance on Zoey. But Zoey has found sanctuary on the Isle of Skye and is being groomed by Queen Sgiach to take over for her there. Being queen would be cool, wouldn't it?


And what about Stevie Rae and Rephaim? The Raven Mocker refuses to be used against Stevie Rea, but what choice does he have when no one in the entire world, including Zoey, would be okay with their relationship? Does he betray his father or his heart?


It was a long time ago that I cried this much wile reading a book. Which is weird, because Awakened isn't a very sad book. Or, it's sad, but no depressed, horrible book about a person who's struggling with her miserable life and just wants to kill herself. So why did I cry so much? Because one of my favorite characters died in the first part of the book. It was awful! I started cry in the middle of the school cafeteria and couldn't concentrate on reading after that. Every time they mentioned the death in the rest of the book, I started weeping. I'm happy I read the major part of it at home.

So you obviously become attached to the characters. They're incredibly well developed (I know that that's a really worn out word in book reviews, but it describes it so well!) and everybody are so different! They have strong personalities and are just awesome. I love everyone of them and wouldn't want anything bad happen to them (except for Neferet, she's an evil bitch who can go to hell.)

The writing in Awakened isn't some beautiful poem like word magic, but something that really goes on in a teenagers head. It's really "teen like". It's good that P.C. took her daughter Kristin to help her to write the House of Night series. And OMG they mentioned True Blood and Glee in it!! (Which are to of my favorite tv-shows). Just had to tell you that.
