Taylor Swift on the Hunger Games soundtrack

This song got released on Taylor Swift's twitter about 6 hours ago, and is one of the songs on the Hunger Games soundtrack. It is called Safe and Sound and is by Taylor Swift and the Civil Wars.

I really didn't have high expectations for it (I kind of have a problem with Taylor Swift) but I really, really like the song. The lyrics, the melody and the whole feel of it, so amazing! I can really see this one fitting perfectly to the Hunger Games.

I still haven't got any idea about which part of the movie the song would fit the best, I think it could be played in a lot of different scenes. I'm really excited to hear more of the songs on the soundtrack. What do you think of the song?

First picture of Katniss!

The first official picture of Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen was released today! Entertainment Weekly has this picture on their cover. She looks a lot more like Katniss that I'd expected, but she's still just too old. Sorry.
Now when the shooting is beginning I'm really hoping for a lot of pictures to be published. There's not even one year left to the premiere!

Stephenie Meyer's The Host lead role casted

Saoirse Ronan is the lucky girl who got the part as Melanie Stryder in the movie version of Stephenie Meyer's the Host! 

It has been a while since we heard any news from the Host and I almost believed that they had stopped the production or something. But apparently, it's still on track!

The Hunger Games cast rant

Okay. So if you're on Twitter you've probably heard the news about Peeta and Gale being cast. Josh Hutcherson gets to play Peeta and Liam Hemswort plays Gale. Just as Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss, I don't like this at all. I don't have anything against the actors, but I just don't think they would make good characters in the Hunger Games. My biggest problem is their age. Everyone looks like they're over 20 years old! I want my Katniss, Peeta and Gale being 16-year olds, don't you? And secondly, they don't look like they were described in the books. At all.

Jennifer Lawrence is blonde, pale and old. Katniss is supposed to be dark haired, olive skinned and young. Josh Hutcherson is dark haired. Peeta is blonde. And yes, I know that they can color his hair, but I honestly don't think it would look good on his. Liam Hemswort is probably the one who looks the most as described in the book. But I just don't like him as Gale. It's not the Gale I pictured. No one of them are.

Some people are trying to forget their looks and arguing that they are good actors. They probably are, but there's lots of good actors out there. And many of them look more like the characters. And are younger. Why can't they just choose one of those people?

Harry Potter movie poster!

Is it just me, or isn't this really exciting?! For every picture, video and sneak peak we get from Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows part 2 it feels like we take a step closer to the premiere. But there's still a long way to go ..

I love the poster. It's kind of simple, but still really dramatic and intense! 

Katniss casted and Harry Potter preview released!

Unless you've been hiding under a rock for the last few days (which I have. Or to be more precise, hiding under mountains of school work) you know that the long search for Katniss in the Hunger Games movie has come to an end! It was Jennifer Lawrence from True Grit who got the part.

If you ask me, I don't like it. In my opinion, she's too blonde, too pale and too old to play Katniss. I would've preferred  Hailee Steinfeld or this girl. At least when we talk about looks. But if Gary Ross thinks Jennifer is perfect for the role and even calls it "the easiest casting decision of his life", we should trust him, right?

The Hunger Games movie!

Last Tuesday I read a tweet about the now official release date of The Hunger Games movie, and I actually jumped up from my bed and started screaming. I'm super duper excited! I love when they make movies about books I like (even though they never are as good as the book). The Hunger Games is one of my favorite books ever, and I really hope that they make the movie awesome.

The release date is set on March 23rd 2012, can we wait that long?

They've recently hired a casting director and the discussions about who should get the main parts have been ongoing for a long time. A few actors claims that they've read the script. I personally would want unknown actors to have the parts. Then it would be more like "oh, there's Katniss" and not "oh, there's this and that actor who plays Katniss". Kind of like they did in Twilight and Harry Potter, hehe. Would you want known or unknown actors to have the parts? Do you have any actors that you think would be perfect as any of the characters?
